About Mrs. Heidenreich

I graduated from Purdue University with my BA in Communication, a minor in English and a concentration in Public Relations. Additionally, I completed my Masters in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Middle School from DePaul University. I can tell you that I have had multiple business related jobs and nothing compares to teaching! I find it intriguing, exciting, challenging,
energizing and exhausting all at the same time! I am so happy to be spending the 2013-2014 school year with what I expect to be a wonderful group of young people!
Beyond teaching, I love all kinds of sports and I do mean
all kinds – soccer, baseball, track, basketball, tennis and hockey however I would put football at the top of the heap!  Go BEARS and Boiler UP, Hammer DOWN!!
It is very important to me to get outside and stay as active as possible, something I encourage to all my students. You can find me on the beautiful Lake Michigan running path a few times a week and visiting the local yoga studio as much as possible! I am also apart of the Kitchen Community Gardening project that a few of my fellow teachers and myself put together last year. I hope to get our class outside as much as instructional time will allow for us to learn about urban gardening and healthy food options. It is a beautiful garden on the north side of the school. If you have a chance I encourage you and your family to visit it to see what we have growing!
My life as well as my name changed this past March. I got married to the love of my life and am currently working on changing my name. I will go by Mrs. Heidenreich, (pronounced Hide-in-rike), but for now my email is still using my maiden name, Ness. If you would like to contact me you can phone me at Disney or feel free to email me at smness@cps.edu. Well, that's a little about me, I look forward to getting to know all of you more and more each day!
